I'm very excited to begin sewing retreats!

This is a new venture for me so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming dates.

I have a couple of dates in the pipeline, once they are confirmed I will share more information.

How will the Retreats work?

The retreats are not tutor led, it will be run like a 'Sit & Sew', I want these retreats to feel really relaxed so that you can do as much or as little as you'd like. We will have a room which can be left set up for the duration of the retreat. The idea is to bring whatever you'd like to work on, and I've often found that other members of the retreat will offer help and advice when needed - we all have different skills and opinions!

Each person will be allocated one to two tables to work on, and these can be left set up. There are plenty of extension leads/plugs provided by the venue, and I will provide a cutting table, cutting equipment, iron and ironing board.

The sewing room can be used from early morning until late night if you so desire!

Accommodation

Have a look at my YouTube videos to get an idea of the accommodation. This is an establishment run by the Rowntree Foundation (Quakers) so the rooms are fairly basic, but they are all en-suite, most of the beds are single beds. There is tea and coffee provided in each room, but I think if you want a hairdryer you would need to request one.

The cost of the retreat includes full board - three meals each day and tea, coffee and biscuits are provided to use as required in the sewing room.

There are a couple of accessible rooms if needed.

Other Information

All types sewing welcomed, machines, hand sewing, embroidery machines. 

The venue will provide us with a lounge, and this is particularly good if you want a bit of quieter time to read or hand sew.

Cober Hill has lovely grounds and it's not far from the seaside town of Scarborough if you want a day at the coast.

Once dates become available, you will be able to book on the website by paying a deposit. You can also book by BACS or card payment.
